Theater Dance - Age Group: 11-14 yrs

$175.00

Schedule: Wednesdays, Sept 15 - Oct 27 4-5pm

Age Group: 11-14 yrs

Does your child love performing in musicals or want to get started? This is a great class to gain more experience and focus on the dance aspect of musical theater. They'll also get moving to fun, upbeat music they may already know or that may be new to them. Your student will work on flexibility, balance, rhythm, and learning new dance steps and what we call them. They will practice learning and creating their own dances, as well as using storytelling in their choreography. This class will encourage the innate energy, excitement, and instincts of these young movers and while technique is important, nurturing your dancer’s unique style and personality while they become confident dancers is the number one goal.

Meet Your Instructor: Victoria Bartels Prince

Victoria grew up in Wilmington where she discovered her love of dance and theater. As a student, Victoria attended NC Governor's School, graduated high school at UNCSA, and received her BFA in Dance from ECU. As a performer, her career has ranged from stage to television and concert dance companies as a jazz, theater, and contemporary dancer. Most recently, she has choreographed for OHTC and the TV series, RJ Decker. Victoria has been a dance educator for the last 18 years throughout the NY/NJ area and for the NYC Department of Education with her students going on to attend LaGuardia, Frank Sinatra, Professional Performing Arts School, and Conservatories as well as performing on Broadway, television, and abroad.
