Opera House Theatre Company is thrilled to welcome performers of all backgrounds to audition for our upcoming productions. Whether you're a seasoned performer or new to the stage,we encourage you to join us and share your talent. At OHTC, we value diversity and creativity and strive to make auditions a positive, supportive experience

Audition Preparation

Please prepare 16–32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of Little Women that showcases your vocal strengths and storytelling ability. Choose material that allows you to make clear acting choices and connect emotionally with the lyrics. Selections do not need to be from the show.

An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music in the key you will sing, with the beginning and ending of your cut clearly marked. Music should be legible and organized in a binder for easy page turns.

To keep auditions running on schedule, we may stop a selection before the end of your prepared cut. This is simply a matter of time and is not a reflection of your performance.

Callbacks will be held immediately following the initial vocal auditions and will include scene readings and vocal selections from the show. Actors invited to callbacks will be notified during their initial audition.

  • We hold auditions, callbacks, and rehearsals at our space; the Lucille Shuffler Center located at 2011 Carolina Beach Road in Wilmington, NC 28401.

  • We do not have sign-ups for our auditions. We will start seeing people beginning at the day’s start time on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to get ahead of the game, please fill out and submit your audition form, headshot and resumé early and submit them HERE.

  • No! Even if you are not asked to stay for the advanced dance call or come to a callback, that does NOT mean that you’re not being considered for the season. We will let everyone know casting results as soon as we can finalize all the details.
