Does your tween or young teen love performing in musicals or want to start auditioning? This is a great class to gain more experience and focus on the dance aspect of musical theater. They'll build flexibility, balance, strength, get their blood pumping and bodies moving to dynamic, fun music while also expanding their dance and movement vocabulary. They will get to practice learning new choreography, creating their own dances, and learning to portray characters, emotions, and stories through their movement. This class will give students the chance to embrace and express themselves and their changing perspectives through dance and movement and while technique matters, nurturing these dancers’ unique movement style and personality and helping them become confident dancers and humans is of the utmost importance.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

Victoria grew up in Wilmington where she discovered her love of dance and theater. As a student, Victoria attended NC Governor's School, graduated high school at UNCSA, and received her BFA in Dance from ECU. As a performer, her career has ranged from stage to television and concert dance companies as a jazz, theater, and contemporary dancer. Most recently, she has choreographed for OHTC and the TV series, RJ Decker. Victoria has been a dance educator for the last 18 years throughout the NY/NJ area and for the NYC Department of Education with her students going on to attend LaGuardia, Frank Sinatra, Professional Performing Arts School, and Conservatories as well as performing on Broadway, television, and abroad.
