Opera House Apprentice Theatre!

We'll be having auditions for our very first Opera House Apprentice Theatre summer season. These shows will be cast & crewed by young performers aged 14-24 (rising high school freshman to college seniors). We're looking for actors, singers, dancers, designers, & technicians who will hone their skills in 2-3 week intensive rehearsals to put on practically professional performances.

Please prepare 16 bars (a small section) of a song that best shows off your voice and a theatrical monologue (no movies) no longer than 1 minute. There will be a dance/movement audition including tap technique.
We will also accept technical resumes.

You’ll still be able to audition even if you don’t have a time slot but this helps us keep it more organized.

Thoroughly Modern Millie (July 19-21) at the Wilson Center Studio Theatre
The winner of six Tony Awards, Thoroughly Modern Millie takes you back to the height of the Jazz Age in New York City, when "moderns," including a flapper named Millie Dillmount, were bobbing their hair, entering the workforce and rewriting the rules of love. This high-spirited musical romp is a delightful valentine to the long-standing spirit of New York City and the people who seek to discover themselves there.

Rehearsals will be 2-3 weeks prior to performance date.

In Addition to Summer Productions…

Audition Workshop (August 9-10) at the Wilson Center Studio Theatre
This 2 week workshop will help young performers learn the skills to make every audition a dynamite experience. From what to sing, how to dress, and the best way to present yourself this workshop is a must for young people hoping to learn more about the audition process and how to turn "God, I hope I get it!" into "God, I think I got it!"
